Cyberpunk Legacies Project Showcase

Cyberpunk Legacies is an interdisciplinary seminar that explores cyberpunk as both a cultural genre and a way of thinking about technology’s intimate relationship with power, bodies, labor, and the future. Drawing from film, theory, history, and lived experience, the course examines how classic cyberpunk visions—from Blade Runner to contemporary global futurisms—both reflect and shape our understanding of technology, inequality, and social change.

Through site visits, screenings, readings, and collaborative research, students critically engaged with cyberpunk’s enduring questions while developing digital, analytical, and creative skills. The projects featured here are the culmination of that work: original, research-driven digital explorations in which students trace cyberpunk’s legacies across topics such as labor, surveillance, disability, gender, environmental futures, and global technology cultures.
